On Monday, September 24th, the Union County Health Foundation held its Grand Re-Opening with a Ribbon Cutting & Open House to celebrate the completion of the expansion project which was kicked off one year ago on September 21st.  The ceremony included brief statements of support by Mike Jaspers, USDA-RD State Director; Jim Kooiman, UCHF Board President; Bruce Odson, Chairman of the Elk Point Economic Development Corporation; and Mayor Isabel Trobaugh.

In addition, area residents & patrons, many CEO's from Dakota Network of Community Health Centers, representatives from the Community Healthcare Association of the Dakotas, representatives from the USDA-RD: Trace Davids, Regional Director; Jim Rydell, Area Representative; Sherri Lewis, Manager, along with State Offices:  Senator Tim Johnson represented by Erik Nelson and Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth represented by Mark Gerhardt; were present for support.

This expansion has added much needed office space which allowed us to increase our patient exam area by 30%.  The addition of a conference room will allow for provider and staff training, as well as meetings.  In addition, storage space and the ability to expand our practice &/or services was built in.  We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the support shown by all that were present, as well as for those that were unable to attend.
